COACHING
I work with junior sailors from their first racing seasons through championship-level competition — Sabot sailors learning to race, FJ and C420 sailors pushing into gold fleet, and i420 sailors targeting national and international events. Whether your sailor is just getting comfortable on the race course, trying to crack the top ten for the first time or campaigning for a championship, I've been at that exact stage recently enough to remember what it feels like.
We review footage or race tracks together and build a concrete plan for what to work on next. This is expecially helpful between events.

ABOUT
I've been racing sailboats since I was seven years old, starting in the Sabot fleet in Newport Beach. After moving to San Francisco in 9th grade, I stepped into the i420, racing internationally from Kieler Woche in Germany to the World Championships, where I've twice been the 2nd-ranked US boat in the men's/mixed fleet. I captained my high school sailing team for three years — the first sophomore captain in school history — and I'm currently taking a gap year to coach and train before attending and sailing at Brown University fall 2027.

My Approach
The results that shaped me most aren't the wins.
It's the regatta where a horrible first day left me in 12th, and I ground it back to win by the final race. It's leading a championship by 10 points going into day two and choking on nerves — then having to figure out how to handle that kind of pressure for real. It's losing Junior Sabot Nationals to a 30-degree windshift in the last race after winning the start. Junior sailing hands you all of it, usually before you're ready.
That's what I coach: the whole picture. Boat speed, boat handling, starts, and tactics — but also the mental game that makes those skills hold up on race day. How to reset after a bad race instead of letting it wreck the next three. How to stay calm on a crowded start line. How to lose a lead and come back the next day sharper. Because I grew up through the same pathway my sailors are on — Sabot to 420s, local series to national championships — I know exactly what each stage feels like from inside the boat, not just from the coach boat.
Three years as a team captain also taught me that how you show up matters as much as where you finish.
The standard I hold as a coach: work hard, race hard, respect the fleet, and keep the stoke high.
